Holy Cross Supporting Elementary School Preview Performance
November 22, 2019 ~ 9:45am
Auditions will be held on Monday, September 9th and Tuesday, September 10th, in room 131 immediately after school, Everyone who auditions will be cast. You only need to attend one session. Anyone who wishes to audition for a speaking role will be asked to read a small monologue (1 Minute) which they have prepared, read from provided audition sides, and sing a song of their choosing.
Call backs for Principal roles will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 2:45 in the auditorium. Any actor that receives a call back should be prepared to sing from the show as well as read scenes with other actors.
The cast list and a preliminary rehearsal schedule will be posted outside the auditorium on Friday, September 13th
Our first rehearsal (for all cast members!) will be a table read of the script on Monday, September 17th from 6:30PM to 8:30 PM in the auditorium. Please bring a pencil and a bottle of water.
Being in the play, whether as a leading character or a member of the ensemble, requires a commitment from both students and parents; rehearsal schedules will vary depending on your role, and every role is equally important. It is vital that you attend your scheduled rehearsals. Most rehearsals will be Monday & Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM. We will use the long Veterans Day weekend as well. I understand that you will need to miss rehearsals at times. The only excused absences will be for school events and work but anyone with three unexcused rehearsals may be dismissed from the show.
Furthermore, the week leading up to the play (tech week) is the most important week. During this week, we add costumes, scenery, lighting, sound, and musicians; this can cause major changes in the production. Attendance at these rehearsals is mandatory for the entire company. This is non-negotiable.
All students in grades 3-8 are welcome to participate. Students do not have to audition for the ensemble. There is room for everyone! This year we have decided to open auditions for speaking roles to all 7th & 8th graders in the Holy Cross supporting elementary schools. Auditions will be held on September 9th and 10th at 2:30 here at Holy Cross.
