June 16 - June 20, 2025

The Summer Crusader Camp is a week-long enrichment camp that provides the opportunity for rising 6th through 9th grade students to pursue educational experiences that will enhance their love for lifelong learning. The collection of course offerings will allow the individual to explore different areas of interest, strengthen fundamentals, and to develop friendships and relationships with future high school classmates and faculty. 


We'd love for you to experience some of what Holy Cross High School has to offer during our Summer Enrichment Crusader Camp. Our dedicated teachers are awaiting your arrival and excited to welcome you as a new member of the "Crusader Family."


Each student camper may register for up to three (3) courses. Cost per course is $50.

Mask Making Merriment:

Campers will explore some of the historical traditions of various types of masks and create their own! Working with paper mache and tissue paper, studnets will create masquerade style masks ready for wearing or displaying. This fun hands-on class will introduce studnets to mask making as a form of sculpture and 3D design! All supplies will be provided but students will have the opportunity to bring found objects for embellishment as well.

This session will introduce young performers to a new actor’s tool each session: Movement for performance, Creative Drama, Basic Theatrical Dance, Audition Techniques, and Props in Performance. Campers will be encouraged to explore different acting styles while they have the opportunity to perform scenes and pieces for their peers. Each camper will be allowed to select pieces from their favorite shows an will work at their own pace and skill level. we will use popular Music Theatre songs and movement to create a relaxing and comfortable environment.

Introduction to Digital Drawing:

In this camp session, you’ll get the opportunity to participate in popular Holy Cross Phys. Ed. team and individual games. Activities include badminton, kickball, handball and more. There will be an emphasis on learning new sport skills as well as sportsmanship, teamwork, movement and taking accountability of our physical fitness while having fun at the same time.

Campers will learn to use Procreate, an affordable and powerful digital art app for iPads when paired with Apple Pencils. Procreate offers a user-friendly experience that feels like drawing on paper, making it suitable for both beginners and those looking to build their art skills. Throughout the week, students will create finished drawings and gain proficiency in various art concepts. All necessary equipment; iPad Pro & Apples Pencils, will be provided for this class.

Did you know that the Bible is the most widely read book of all times and yet many young people aren’t quite sure to and how to start? This camp is designed as a helpful introduction on how to read the Bible. It would prove especially helpful to students who have had little or no past experience reading the Bible. This camp will ba an interactive and enjoyable discussion for all campers.

If you’d like to go on a creative writing journey by expanding your imagination, a creative writing course might be for you. Each day, campers will focus on a 

specific type of creative writing, options include: 

poetry, screenwriting, fairy tales, and short story. Together, we can become more creative thinkers by using fiction and literary techniques to apply to writing in an interactive environment.

Board Games and Math:

Math is everywhere and classic board games are no exception! This camp will explore all the math involved in games such as Yahtzee, Uno, and Backgammon. Make new friends as you play these 

traditional board games and find all the ways math works with each of them! As time permits, we will 

continue to discuss and dive into other fun games with mathematical backgrounds.

Art in Math? You bet! Come into the math classroom and make ART! If you love math and have a creative side too, this camp is for you. Campers will work both sides of their brain as they work through fun activities with origami, tessellations, and constructions. As time permits, campers will also get to explore geometric tangrams. If you love solving problems in a creative way, this camp is for you!

Bring your own show tunes that you like to perform, or come prepared to learn some of the best musical theater numbers from Broadway, going back to the big shows of the 1920’s and 30’s, all the way to shows that are running today. Students can sign up for solos or for duet/trio or small group performances. Everybody will have practice and performance time!

Through this course, students gain a greater awareness of the world and community in which they live. The content focuses on the physical, cultural and economic geography of the United States, as well as emphasizing map skills and general geographic concepts and themes, in a fun and engaging way. Students will learn about the interesting and fun places to visit in the United States. We will work on “mapping” out road trips to see the most beloved tourist attractions. I will ask students to draw in on their own personal experiences by identify (on a map) the places they have been as well as the places they would like to go.

Sing in the choir! Play your instrument! Learn to play an instrument! Music making is best when we can do it together. We will prepare a mini-concert of music featuring student musicians of all different experience levels. If you play an instrument (like violin, trumpet, guitar, etc.), then bring it with you. If you don’t, you’ll have a few options to choose from, including handbells, ukuleles, or singing in the choir.

Come into the art room and work with relief printmaking techniques to create a beautiful series functional artwork. Campers will work with this 

centuries old medium to create print reproductions using tools, such as gougers, bench hooks, barrens, and soft kut block. Campers will have the opportunity to make bookmarks, cards, or stand alone prints to bring their drawings to life while learning the basics of this beautiful art process. All supplies will be provided.

Campers will interact with the sports they know and love in ways they never have before. Through games, activities, videos, and discussion, students will learn of the power of sports through multiple modern lenses and core academic subjects. This course is designed to familiarize students with secondary education through a familiar topic and peer-to-peer engagement.
